Hi. I'm Wendy Zuckerman, and Science Versus is coming back in your ears next week. Yes. That is right. We're gonna go on grand adventures to the ends of the Earth. We're gonna make a massive hole in some ice to find out when it comes to climate change, how screwed are we? Is the climate spiraling out of our control? Speaking of things that are out of our control, microplastics. I'm cutting some green onions on a plastic cutting board. And according to TikTok, that is an extremely dangerous and foolish thing to do. They say I'm gonna be getting a bunch of microplastics from my cutting board. I'm gonna eat them, and it's gonna be very bad for me. So how true is that? We're also tackling inflammation this season. We know that having too much inflammation can be a troublemaker, wreaking havoc on your body and your brain. So what causes that nasty inflammation, And how can you tamp it down? I keep hearing about how bad inflammation is and that all these foods can cause it and make you feel like crap, like potatoes or tuna fish or pasta. But is any of that actually true? From the sexiness of inflammation to the unsexiness of fiber, it's the least sexy nutrient out there, and yet people are saying that it is a game changer for our health. If only we ate enough of it, then our brains would be amazing, our guts would be amazing, even our hearts would be amazing. I'm working on an episode on fiber, and I'm very interested to find out why drinking this slop is healthy for us. On the new season of Science Versus, we're looking into lucid dreaming, narcissism, the pill, metaphors, and so much more. We're gonna cover groundbreaking, curious studies that really explore the mysteries of what your body can do. I just hope that nobody comes up here and accuses me of doing anything obscene. I promise you this is for work, and this is for science. Oh my god. It's blue. Wow, wait. No, this is that is juicy. So, join us for a new season of Science Versus, where things are gonna get weird. And I was like, we've lost gravity. And I was like, we've lost gravity. And everyone on station is just like And you're just floating. Oh, indeed. How did you get gravity back? I turned it off and on again. The new season of Science Versus starts September 12. We're available on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Wendy Zuckerman and I'll back to you soon.
